It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have long been mastered.

This is the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It is hard for their batters to possess a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to produce her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have come from 10 efforts across formats.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and from there Healy was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment that way, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three big hits.

By the time she was out Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if necessary, we believe we can achieve it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has grown stronger - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in ten days, by which point a semi-final berth may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
